Variegated Canfield solitaire rules (2 decks of cards)<< Usk | Vertical >>
Goal: All 8 aces are set out. Build them up to king in the same suit.
13 cards are set aside as the 'reserve', with the top card available for play.
Build the 5 piles of the layout down in alternating suit color. Any number of cards from the top of a pile can be moved. Empty piles are filled immediately from the reserve. If the reserve is empty, then empty piles may be filled from the deck.
Turn over 3 cards at a time from the deck, playing the top card to other piles when you can.
2 redeals are allowed, returning the waste pile back to the deck.
Also known as: Variegated Demon
Variation of: Canfield
Difference: 2 decks of cards are used, doubling the number of foundations to 8. The base rank is always ace, and all 8 are dealt. The layout has 5 piles rather than 4, and partial piles can be moved. The reserve is dealt face up. You only get 2 redeals.
This is more closely related to Double Canfield (Relaxed), the difference being the dealt aces, face-up reserve, and 2 redeals.
