Sir Tommy solitaire rules (1 deck of cards)<< Simplicity | Sir Tommy (4 Cards) >>
Goal: Move out the aces when you can and build them up to king in any suit.
Turn up one card at a time from the deck and play it if you can, or place it onto any of 4 waste piles, regardless of rank or suit. Once placed, cards can not be moved except to the ace piles.
Also known as: Old Patience, Patience, Solitaire, Try Again
Variations: Lady Betty, Shifting, Sir Tommy (4 Cards)
This is said to be the oldest known solitaire game, which may be why it is also known as Old Patience. Even with careful planning it's a hard game to win.
