Little Windmill solitaire rules (1 deck of cards)<< Little Forty | Lower 48 >>
Goal: One ace is dealt. Move out the other 3 aces when you can and build all aces up to king in the same suit.
A layout of 5 cards is dealt in the form of a cross. Build the piles down in any suit. You can only move one card at a time. Empty piles can be filled with any card.
Turn over one card at a time from the deck, playing the top card to other piles when you can.
A limited redeal is allowed, ending when a turned up card can not be played.
Variation of: Four Seasons
Difference: The starting rank is always ace. A limited redeal is allowed, ending when a turned up card can not be played.
Cavendish likely intended this to be a 1-deck variation of Windmill, but it's far more like Four Seasons. Tarbart simply calls it Windmill, like the 2-deck game.
David Parlett notes the origin of the game, but neglects to mention the limited redeal.
