Red and Black solitaire rules (2 decks of cards)<< Rank and File | Red and Black (Alternate) >>

Goal: All 8 aces are set out. Build them up to king in alternating suit color.

Build the 8 piles of the layout down in alternating suit color. Only the top card of a pile may be moved. Empty piles are filled from the deck.

Turn over one card at a time from the deck, playing the top card to other piles when you can.

One redeal is allowed, returning the waste pile back to the deck.

Also known as: Rouge et Noir

Variations: Blonde and Brunette, Red and Black (Alternate), Red and Black (Cadogan)

There is also an unrelated game named "Rouge et Noir".

The alternate rules omit the redeal, but compensate by allowing sequences to be moved. Lady Cadogan keeps the redeal, but makes it harder by matching suits on the aces.
