German Patience (Relaxed) solitaire rules (2 decks of cards)<< German Patience | Giant >>
Goal: Form eight 13-card sequences in the layout that build up in rank regardless of suit, each starting with any card. Aces play onto kings.
Build the 8 piles of the layout up in any suit. Empty piles can be filled with any card.
You can only move one card at a time. Each empty pile doubles the number of cards you can move, since multiple moves would allow it.
Turn over one card at a time from the deck, playing the top card to other piles when you can.
One redeal is allowed, returning the waste pile back to the deck.
Variation of: German Patience
Difference: Rather than filling empty spaces from the deck, you can fill them at your leisure with any card. A full redeal is given, rather than being restricted to only exposing the top card.
This variation offers a bit better than the near-zero chance of winning with the original rules. It's tempting to keep empty spaces to maveuver cards with, but a pile left empty too long may never get completed with a full sequence.
Goodsol, Solavant, and PySol allow you to fill spaces. SolSuite and King Sol give the redeal (PySol mentions that some allow it).
