Poker Solitaire (Open) solitaire rules (1 deck of cards)<< Poker Solitaire | Puss in the Corner >>

Goal: Form the best poker hands you can. Score at least 200 poker points for a win.

Arrange 25 random cards into a 5x5 grid. Cards can be moved after being placed. Each row and column forms a total of 10 poker hands. Aces are high (after king). Poker points are given as follows:

100: Royal Flush (10 to ace in the same suit)
75: Straight Flush (5-card run in the same suit)
50: Four of a Kind (4 cards of the same rank)
25: Full House (3 of a kind and 2 of a kind)
20: Flush (all cards in the same suit)
15: Straight (5-card run in any suit)
10: Three of a Kind (3 cards of the same rank)
5: Two Pair (2 cards of the same rank, twice)
2: One Pair (2 cards of the same rank)

Variation of: Poker Solitaire

Difference: All 25 cards are set out face up so that you can see what cards you have to work with before placing them. You can also move cards after placing them.

The usual solitaire scoring starts at 1000, adds 100 for each scored card, deducts 10 for each move, 1 for each second of time, and adds 2000 for a win. It's the same for this game, except that 25 is added for each poker point rather than 100 per scored card. 200 poker points are required for a win.

The descriptions cited here deal the 25 cards into the 5x5 grid before you begin rearranging them. It's easier to put them to the side and start with an empty grid.
