Crazy Quilt solitaire rules (2 decks of cards)<< Courtyard | Crescent >>

Goal: An ace and a king of each suit are set out as foundations. Build the aces up to king in the same suit. Build the kings down to ace in the same suit.

An 8x8 layout of cards is dealt, alternating vertical then horizontal in a weave pattern. There is no building on these cards. Any card with its top or bottom exposed is available to play to the foundations, or the waste pile.

Turn over one card at a time from the deck, and build onto the top card up or down in the same suit from the layout. Rank order wraps, so kings and aces can play onto each other. The top card is available to play to the foundations.

One redeal is allowed, returning the waste pile back to the deck.

Also known as: Quilt

Variations: Japanese Rug

Don't be too quick to build cards onto the waste pile. If it doesn't result in other cards becoming unblocked, it's usually best left in the layout where it will remain available at all times. The greatest challenge is playing all of the cards out of the waste pile.
