Blind Alleys solitaire rules (1 deck of cards)<< Black Widow | Blind Hookey >>

Goal: All 4 aces are set out. Build them up to king in same suit.

Build the 6 piles of the layout down in alternating suit color. Empty piles can be filled with any card.

You can only move one card at a time. Each empty pile doubles the number of cards you can move, since multiple moves would allow it.

Turn over one card at a time from the deck, playing the top card to other piles when you can.

One redeal is allowed, returning the waste pile back to the deck.

This is pretty much a 1-deck version of Blind Hookey. There are 6 piles in the layout rather than 10, dealt 3 cards each rather than 4. The aces are also dealt to get things started.

David Parlett states to build "from the top of other columns", which is a bit vague, so modern implementations often allow sequences to be moved. Tarbart explicitly states "Cards can only be moved singly, and not in sequences." Like Blind Hookey, it's intended that you create empty spaces to help move more than one card at a time.
