This Victorian game is from the collection by Mary Whitmore Jones. The 3 reserve piles are typically described as part of the tableau, though they still can't play to the other 8 piles.
Two decks of cards
Object: Play all cards to the foundation.
Tableau: 8 piles.
Rank is built down. Cards must alternate suit color.
If a pile is empty, you can play any card.
You can not play to the tableau from the reserve.
You can pick up and play the top card of a pile.
You can move one card, plus another card for every empty cell.
Reserve: 3 piles.
